The Universe is very exceptional and capable of extraordinary occurrences all the time. Effortlessly mysterious in the way it operates and unfolds limitless perceptions of knowledge to all living beings. For countless generations, people have grown accustomed to separating science and spirituality; but in my opinion, they are literally two perspectives on the same conceptual history of existence. When we go through life, we often wonder if there is a greater power at work; watching over us and guiding our decisions and steps in life. Below I have listed, six ways the universe may, in fact, be communicating with you:
1. Miracles
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ― Albert Einstein
Sometimes things happen to us and we are often left wondering, is it a direct result of someone or something else? If you are normally a pessimistic person, this particular form of communication may be easily overlooked and missed. However, if you are the type of individual who energetically feeds into a universal narrative of “the glass half full” concept; then this one will be easy for you to pick up on. I find that miracles go hand in hand with manifesting. No matter your alignment with religion or lack thereof; it is simply a vehicle of intention used to project our subconscious desires into the universe. When the divine hears our intentions and sees they are wholeheartedly desired; they find a way for us to meet them in our own individual realities. For example, there was a time, I had just moved to a new town, and was very low on money. There was a homeless woman with her two children, on the side of the road with a sign looking for food. I immediately gave her the last bit of cash in my pocket because I too was a single mom and wanted to help her despite me not having a lot of money of my own. My boys shared the snacks I had just purchased for them with her children. I thought at the time, I could just work more if I needed anything and just hold off on spending until later. As I kept driving, I thought how blessed I was, and grateful that even though I did not have everything I desired right at that moment, I was still in a position to help another and it made it easy to feel fulfilled. I found myself needing to stop for some gas. Upon pulling up to the gas pump, I found a scratch-off lottery ticket barely scratched on the ground by my vehicle. Intuitively, something told me to pick it up. I proceeded to scratch it and won ten times the amount I gave away. The universe saw my heart, and my intentions and desires were fulfilled. This possibly is only one of many miracles that can happen to anyone. These kinds of tiny miracles happen every day. It is up to you, to have the vision of seeing the everyday opportunities in the occurrence of them working in your life.
2. Angel Numbers
“Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” – Hebrews 13:2, Holy Bible
Do you often find yourself seeing repeating numbers during your everyday routine? Have you ever pondered something or had opportunities happen and then they are confirmed by seeing these same numbers repetitively, but weren’t sure of the direction to take as you receive them? These angel numbers are a form of communication from the divine; assuring us that we are not alone and in fact are in sync with divine authority over our lives. The number sequences vary and have a lot of different meanings; often being delivered in sequences of repeated digits but not always. For example 111 or 777 but they can also be revealed as sequences like 1212 or 1234. These numbers can be found literally everywhere. On a clock, on a license plate, on a sign, on a commercial, in a phone number, in a song, or even in a conversation. So if you see these numbers, the divine is trying to communicate. I encourage you to look them up for further insight on what the higher realms are actually trying to say.
3. Animal Spirits
“Human language appears to be a unique phenomenon, without significant analog in the animal world.”- Noam Chomsky
One summer evening, I was sitting in my backyard, meditating on a loved one that passed away due to a brain tumor. She was a very close relative of mine and also very gifted. I looked up to the stars and asked her a question as if she were sitting right next to me. Then out of nowhere, a small white rabbit runs across the lawn. It stops and stares only for a moment before running along and exiting through a plank in the fence. You ever asked the higher knowledge keepers for a sign? Help is everywhere and the divine never fails to send a messenger our way. Another way that the divine aids us in communication is through the representation of animal guides. This is often described as an angel, the highest, or even an ancestor checking in on you to remind you, that you are never really truly alone. They say butterflies are our ancestors visiting us. Birds are often described as messengers of warning or that a visitor may be coming your way. Animal totems or spirit guides will always find a way to reassure and guide you when you need encouragement, comfort, and confirmation.
4. Songs
“Words make you think. Music makes you feel. A song makes you feel a thought.” ― Yip Harburg
An often fun game I like to play with the divine is what I adoringly call “spirit karaoke”. If there is something or someone I am thinking about, a song is often the best vehicle for communication. Whether I or another writes the song, or I set my intention out there to find out how they are currently feeling about me. Even if they are thinking about me, the universe will play a song on the radio, suggest a song for me to vibe to on my Spotify playlist; or even go as far as playing the song in the store while I am shopping. The possibility of this avenue is endless. It is quite amusing and comforting to know, that music is used so openly when it comes to the higher realms. I truly believe this is because the art of music was one of the angel’s first tasks in heaven. It is a vessel that was established eons before Earth produced any. The entire universe communicates through frequency and music is a part of that divine spectrum. If there is a song a passed loved one played all the time, or maybe you share a liking of with someone significant in your life; they may very well be thinking of you or trying to communicate with you with the aid of the universe.
5. Intuitive Thoughts
“The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.” ― Marcus Aurelius
People often are spooked by the term, “intuitive” and start thinking of late-night infomercials of someone peering over a crystal ball, urging you to buy a psychic reading. The undeniable truth is, everyone is intuitive to some extent. It is simply something you willingly tap into. Every action, idea, invention, commitment, and effect begins as a seeded thought in someone’s mind. 
The decision you make today on that thought could develop into many different things tomorrow. Have you ever had something to do or had plans to go somewhere and something told you to change your mind? Ever thought of someone randomly and then that person calls you? Intuition is a very common yet overlooked ability that guides us in the right direction; an ability that is often clouded by a cognitive slumber due to the discouragement of everyday reality. However, I believe that Intuitive thoughts are one of the most powerful signs that one should never ignore; hence the term, “always follow your intuition”.
6. Dreams
“Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.” -Gloria Steinem
The subconscious is a state of our being that we are the most vulnerable. Some of the best innovative inventions, literary works, and ideas have started as a dream. When we dream it allows our subconscious to activate and receive divine messages or “downloads” that are awaiting us in the aethers. This could be from the highest directly, from any of His angels, maybe even from an ancestor or your higher self. I believe wholeheartedly, this is also a way to tap into our akashic records to some extent to remember important information that could aid us in developing something tangible in our awakening reality this lifetime. I have often dreamed of things and they manifest days and sometimes, even hours after having said dream. This is also directly related to the idea of astral traveling; that we will discuss in another blog entry in depth. If you are the type of person that does not remember their dreams or claim to “never have dreams”, this is simply not true. Guided meditations are a great way to aid with recognition of the dream state, and repetition could restrengthen the ability to recall your dreams. Another tip would be to have a journal by your nightstand so that you can recount your dreams as soon as you wake up. It is often best to write down as many details that you can remember as soon as you wake up so that you can review them later for discerning the purpose. Perhaps you do not remember them, because we have several dreams every night. Dreams are a very common way that the universe communicates with us intimately.
There are many other ways that the divine communicates with us that I have not listed here. These six ways are often my go-to forms when I am trying to identify and decipher communication with the divine personally.
